The pulse of pain and frustration combined, she felt like some caged animal being forced to wear a skin that was too small and carry bones that bolted her to the ground. She wanted meat, wolf meat, she wanted to hunt someone down and smell their fear permeating the air. But she wouldn't have a chance tonight. Chante was due to lead a group of deer hunters out for food. A snarl of frustration left her golden maw.
As the moon rose on the horizon and it touched her fur it turned her normally glittering gold coat to a dark silver. Stars were beginning to dot the sky and as the moonlight began to grow stronger the Moon Drop Lilies began to open their petals, releasing the heady scent to the sky. Chante sneezed slightly, and coughed, the strong scent always did that to her in the beginning until she grew used to it. It only made her headache worse right now. The unforgiving pulse of blood running through her brain caused her ears to fold back against her skull.
Chante sighed and flopped down in the long grass that grew with the lilies, causing a large cloud of yellow pollen to plume upward. It settled back on her and she sighed again, though this time it was in anger as she was colored bright yellow. But she didn't bother to shake it off, instead she began to drift slowly, in and out of consciousness. Dreams did not come as every time she came close to dreaming she started awake. It was too open out here to be able to sleep comfortably. Even in her own pack's land, there was no way she could trust even her own pack that well.
Every time a plant rustled she was ready to spring into action, to rip the throat from the possible attacker, who never existed. Something about tonight had her paranoid that something was going to happen. She knew at least she wasn't alone out here. Though the lilies disguised the scent of any oncoming wolf she could still sense someone else was approaching. She just couldn't figure out from where.

Katey was sitting in her den in the fields and sighed, as she laid down in the dark hole. - Where am I at-? She questioned and rolled over her black fur collecting dirt as she did. She heard a crack outside and a growl escaped her throat, as she crawled out and looked around. Her hackles rose as she heard another crack"WHO'S THERE"?!?!?!? she snarled and bared her teeth. She looked around and her ears perked as she listened for the slightest sound, then she walked about fifty feet away from her newly made den. She went around from random spot to flower and marked her territory in a circle. Her scent wafting throught the air as she walked backed to her den and sat down and marked her den more than anyting else so it had the strongest of her scent then crawled inside. She tried to sleep but tossed and turned, rolling over she whined as she hit her paw on a rock "Ouch". She whimpered and started to lick it as it bleed. When she was finished she sighed and looked out the den entrance again, before curling her black furry tail around her side and closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Her nostrils flared and she inhaled deeply. The wolf's scent was familiar. After breathing in another lungful of the smell she finally placed the female wolf's scent. It belonged to one of the other Council Member's. Katey, the one that was far too sweet for Chante's liking was somewhere in the field. Her lip curled and she growled slightly as she pushed herself into a standing position and began to follow the scent trail to where the source was.
She found a hole, probably dug by a boar or something originally. The wolf's smell was coming from here. She sat down, wrapped her tail around herself, and spoke up. Calling out to Katey, Chante said, "Katey? I can smell you and hear you. I know you're there. So come out, come out where ever you are." Her voice was dangerously playful. Her eyes danced with the flame of a cat who was playing with a mouse. It was too easy. Katey was naive most of the time, trusted to readily. In this world no one should trust anyone.
Chante had learned that quickly in her life. Even her own family had been untrustworthy. But the radioactivity had changed the wolves from creatures of nature and beauty, to intelligent animals, full of dark secrets and dangerous strengths. It had changed them basically into four legged humans. It was dangerous to be naive in this world, it was an easy way to get yourself killed in Chante's opinion. Trust the wrong wolf and they'll rip your throat out without and remorse or hesitation. Words:290 Muse: Ok for just waking up Song: Radioactive- Imagine Dragon "SPEAKING"

Katey came out of the hole beside Chante and she smiled giving a playful bark"Hello Chante" She said in her sweet voice and flicked her tail from side to side. Her silverish/pink eyes darted from one part of Chante's body to the other as she grinned at her councial companion "What brings you here"? She giggles circling Chante. She was still a flirty kid at heart and her eyes gleamed that her pal had come to see her. The wind blew her dark black fur around and she curled her lips licking her shiny white teeth. She looked to the sky and looked at the clouds then down at Chante.-Why has she come down here?? She never does?? She's not Bisexual so she hasn't come to express her feeling about me- She thought and looked at Chante's eyes and then went over to her den hole and sat on her tone haunches and giggled some more. She fiddled with her paws as she awaited the response of her best friend. She kept going deeper into thought as she looked at Chante and her pink eyes darted across the field as if expecting an ambush or something like that .
